“A beautifully rendered experience that excels on nearly every level” Awards Circuit
Following the success of the Adam Levine-Kiera Knightley starrer Begin Again, Solar Pictures brings to local cinemas “COMET”– a cosmic love story that is sure to leave audiences with that warm February feeling.
“Comet,” stars Golden Globe nominee Emmy Rossum (“The Day After Tomorrow,” “The Phantom of the Opera,” “Mystic River”) and Justin Long (“Live Free or Die Hard,” “He’s Just Not That Into You”). “Comet” is an original modern love story that follows Kimberly (Rossum) and Dell (Long), who first meet at the Hollywood cemetery where they’ve both come to watch a meteor shower.
Kimberly is brilliant and beautiful; Dell is nerdy and pessimistic, but with an incredibly sharp mind and direct manner. While she and he are not a natural pair, they are cosmically drawn to each other and, under a night sky, luminous with falling stars, they begin their epic love story.
As the opening title card states the events “take place over six years (a few parallel universes over).”
But what starts as a typical romance quickly turns dreamlike as viewers leap back and forth in time, examining their eventual six-year relationship through the lens of their meeting and four other pivotal moments: a monumental fight at a friend’s wedding in Paris; a break up conversation after Dell has moved to New York; a reconnection on a train ride along the California coast; and finally, when Dell pops in on Kimberly unexpectedly in her home in the Hollywood Hills.
The leaps between these moments are seamlessly woven together to create a sense that this love story transcends time and space and that Kimberly and Dell are destined to be together, if not in this universe, then maybe the next.
Content Media introduced and screened the film to international distributors for the first time at the 2014 American Film Market (AFM) last November and was then picked up by Solar Pictures, among other films.
“The universal theme and inventive storytelling in ‘Comet’ have us believing that audiences will really connect with the film,” said Content Media President of Film Jamie Carmichael. “We were drawn in immediately and are happy to have this film…”
COMET opens in cinemas nationwide on February 25, 2014 and is released by Solar Pictures.

United Nations children’s agency UNICEF and Unilever Philippines have partnered to stop the spread of deadly disease-spreading germs in less-privileged communities and far-flung provinces. Through the help of Unilever’s leading toilet-cleaning brand Domex, Filipinos are committing to better health through community spirit and participation.
Toilets like this in Aroroy, Masbate have wiped-out open defecation practices among residents, leading to lesser incidences of deadly illness especially among children.
In Aroroy, Masbate, the communities of Matalangtalang, Talib and Cabangcalan have been declared open defecation-free following the success of the Community Approaches to Total Sanitation (CATS) program which is managed on-ground by UNICEF and its partners.
The CATS program encourages people to look at the potential health risks of open defecation practices in their communities and collectively seek solutions to their sanitation problems—by asking them to share toilets and eventually build their own.
The program also ensures that all public facilities in the three Aroroy communities have toilets and handwashing facilities, resulting in comfort and lesser incidences of illness especially among children.
For the past three years, Unilever has been supporting UNICEF’s CATS program as part of its commitment to the Unilever Sustainable Living Plan which aims to help improve the health and well-being of more than a billion people worldwide.
Open defecation causes diarrhea and other deadly diseases, as flies go to the feces and fly into one’s food. It causes not only health-related problems, but also affects a family’s income as parents have to take care of a sick family member and pay for medicines and/or hospitalization. Kids also miss school days when they get sick or take care of sick siblings.
“Our success in making these Masbate barangays open defecation-free is a big step towards eliminating disease-spreading germs, especially among children where there are high incidences of deadly water-borne illnesses such as diarrhea and pneumonia,” said Dr. Michael Emerson Gnilo, UNICEF Communication for Development Specialist. “With Unilever support, we intend to make 18 more barangays open defecation–free by the end of 2015. These model barangays will pave the way for expansion and scale up of the program.”
Globally, more than 760,000 people are now living in open defecation–free communities, leading to improved health, safety, security and dignity, thanks to the UNICEF and Unilever partnership. This partnership has also provided more than 120 schools or 29,500 school children worldwide with safe water, sanitation and hygiene facilities which led to fewer sick days and more children staying in school, leading to improved education.

One of the best Restaurant going to Tagaytay is Rekados Cafe and Restaurante located at Santa Rosa- Tagaytay Road,Silang, Cavite.
For those who are first time visitors or just looking for new things to see and do before and after going to Tagaytay, I have my top 4 list why you must visit Rekados Cafe and Restaurant! here’s the full list.

Why it’s awesome: Spanish influences can be found throughout Filipino cuisine. It is a MUST that you visit this Restaurant and savor the rich taste of their famous Paella Valenciana and Callos.

As for my dessert, the tastiest I’ve got is their Churros in Spanish Tablea — very delicious!

2. Scenic view – The ambiance was suitable for families, romantic hide-aways or casual conferences. here you can also see a bit of a touch of spanish and filipino culture, very much like Intramuros.I love how the plants were everywhere plus a huge garden filled with trees and flowers. I can just imagine how romantic the place looks like at night. The place also has this big garden that’s still under renovation very much like Pedalling from Paris to Venice – where they can also accommodate garden weddings, venue for wedding proposals, and etc. I don’t have the photo of the Garden because its under contraction but next time that ill be visiting Rekados, will definitely take a picture of it 🙂
3. Fine Restaurant – The feel inside Restaurant is like coming home to your ancestral home and very romantic aura too.The restaurant is filled with stuff from the past, antique photo frames, old clocks, books, and etc. And the menu is filled with family recipes or recipes from friends of the restaurant owner’s family. The place is not that big that it can only accommodate a number of customers at a time; so, it’s best to make reservations especially during lunch time.
